I received an ARC for an honest review (and bought it because it was THAT good!!)I asked Kris whether this book could be read as a stand-alone as I hadn't read the rest of the series (as it's M/F) and I loved her first M/M book so much. So I was given the task (YES!!!) to see how this stands on it's own for all those readers who are only interested in M/M. The resounding answer is YES, THIS WORKS GREAT AS A STAND-ALONE. Even knowing it is part of a series the story has no holes and I was not lef [...]

2.5 stars. I'd read a stand alone MM that I liked by this author, so decided to try this. It was part of a series that's otherwise been MF, I guess. There seems to be a story arc for the series but it was integrated fairly well and I wasn't terribly confused. However, Jared is an alpha-hole and treats Christian like crap for a couple of years. Christian, who was rescued by the group of guys from his evil family at 19, is madly in love but finally tells him to fuck off. Another year down the line [...]

I LOVE THIS BOOK! Please know that I don't actively seek out m/m romances, I do read them if they are part of a series so I am not adverse to this all. I have been wanting to read about Jared and Christian eversince Kris Michaels hinted about these two in her previous books. Thank you for not disappointing me and oh boy, when Jared finally pulled his head out of his ass, he can be the most sweetest and caring lover ever. I love how Kris Michaels made Christian big and strong he sounds so yummy. [...]

This was a good book but I'm super irritated that I bought the "new" release that was actually a second edition. I knew this book sounded familiar but I'm always happy to try a new established author to the m/m genre. This book originally came out in 2016 and re-released with new cover and new publisher in 2018 so buyer beware.

New to me author. I really enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more of this author's M/M book. I was disappointed in the epilogue, because it didn't involve the MCs.

Finally Jared’s story!I couldn’t wait for this story! Finally, FINALLY Jared’s story was being told. And it was a doozy! Jared had pushed away his sexual orientation, and his feelings for Christian, for years. Realizing how close he came to losing him forever created an epiphany that forced Jared to face his feelings and declare his intentions once and for all. Put up or shut up was the order of the day….“I’m afraid of you.”That is the perfect summary of both Jared and Christian’ [...]

Christian and Jared might be the most courageous and strong couple you will ever read about. Christian having survived the worst a person can survive by the hand of those that are meant to love and protect is something that will make you swoon for him. Jared King a hero, strong and brave in his everyday work, as a Guardian he protects and save people everyday. As the face of Guardian he is often who the media tracks. Being together for Christian would be a dream he never thought would be realize [...]

"The jagged line between love and hate is paper thin and razor sharp."Jared is the lastest offering from Kris Micheals Kings of Guardians Series and was another great instalment. Although it can be read as a standalone, I highly recommend you read the other books in the series.I wasn't aware that Jared's story was m/m which admittedly I tend to steer clear ofah I know I'm not normal however, that being said I really enjoyed it. Fantastic!!!!!Wow! Mind blowing! What an amazing love story between two wonderful human beings! My first M/M book and I absolutely loved it. And I thought that us, heterosexuals, have to deal with issues and prejudice! Stop complaining people! Put yourself in the shoes of Christian and Jared just for the amount of time it takes you to read this incredible book and then complain! A great supriseI have read the other books in this series and was uncertain if I would like tgis one as I am not one to read M/M books. However because I had read the other books I bought this one and sat down to read. OMGMs. Michaels did not disappoint. Jared and Christian make an awesome couple. Their love was evident and it spoke volumes how they interacted after th3 decision to try. Definitely worth the read. But if a gay relationship makes you uneasy this is not the book for you. WellM/M stories aren't really my thing. Bi occasionally, yes. That being said I enjoy Kris Michaels ' writing. And have liked everything else they've wrote so I decided to read this too. It's a love story. The sex scenes aren't too graphic. It's good but not quite as good as some of Kris Michaels ' other stories. But it did leave me with a contented feeling. If you liked other Kris Michaels stories, you'll like this one too.

I have only read one other gay romance and this was better. I did learn some things that help me un derstand gay romance.

Just had to read itI started this series a few months back and having read the first book, I found I couldn't wait for the next instalment. I read books 1-4 quickly but had to wait on this one to be released. I was a little unsure due to M/M content but the author captured this well. The relationship between Jared and Christian is well written and inoffensive although some readers may not enjoy it. I however have read some heterosexual scenes that have caused more offense. Love these two charactersThis 5th entry in the series is more character driven than the previous books. Because Jared is not military as the previous main characters have been the storyline here is more crime procedural which the author does a good job with. Obviously an astute reader of the series will figure out where this story is heading fairly easily and fairly early on.While the story is good I was much more enameled of the way the character development was done. We not only learn more abo [...]

Amazing. I have been looking forward to Jared's story since the beginning of this series and I was not disappointed. I absolutely loved it. Jared is the face of Guardian, and as such has never had a relationship for fear of what that public exposure would do to his partner. Christian is the man who finally makes him get past that self imposed loner lifestyle and grab the life he wants. Their love story is one of my favorites I have ever read. When I am reading Kris's books I am no longer seeing [...]

Jared and Christian have had a pretty toxic relationship over the past 3 years if you can even call it a relationship. Ever since they met, the attraction and chemistry between them has been off the charts, but for every good moment between them, Jared quickly followed it up with a something to ruin it. Eventually he pushed Christian too hard and he walked away from not only Jared but the whole King family who had come to love and accept him as one of their own. Now, a year after cutting ties wit [...]

I don't know why this book has such high ratings. Nothing made any sense!!! I get that it's a book in a series and I admit, I haven't read earlier books, but nonetheless, character's actions did not make sense. First of all, what kind of social worker is Christian to exclude the possibility of (view spoiler)[human trafficking until it was mentioned to him in explicit terms. At no point does he consider the kids are being kidnapped and trafficked. Just possibly killed by a lunatic. Then, when he [...]

WOW, this was a nice surprise! It is part of a series, but I had no issues reading this, without having read the first 4 books.I know I said that I would not read any more second chance books, but this one worked for some reason, and I think it's because Jared did some grovelling AND some opening up for Christian. So Jared is the face of the 'Guardians', he's gay but definitely not out, not even with his family, and he's a typical manly man. Christian was (apparently) saved from the 'Guardian's' [...]

Jared did that to me.From the first meeting of Christian and Jared you knew-you just knew that they were bound to be a fantastic couple. Review for the yummilicious Jared !!!Christian Koehler is in a classic case of Rock meet Hard Place As a social worker some of "his" street kids are missing and noone will believe there is something nasty going on so as a last resort he turns to the people, who in an effort to keep his heart from breaking, he walked away from & cut all contact with a year before. I have not read a Kris Michaels' solo or collab that has not been fantastic which is why I ARC her books when possible (as it gets the book in my hands earlier) but I always purchase and keep them stored on all of my Kindles (they are some of the best re-reads I have come across). This story is a M/M and I usually don't go out of my way to read the genre, but it was the Guardian series and Jared, so I had no choice. Good one, with the M/M romance front and center. However, the underlying thread that began with the ambush in "Jacob", still continues. The specter is taking on shape now, becoming a threat from the Russian mob that appears to not be intimidated by Guardian's position. The mob also appears to have an uber-hacker working form them, who can infiltrate and corrupt records at will. This unfortunate fate befalls a young man in their employ who tried to kill Christian Koehler. Christian survives the at [...]
