        Writer's Digest Judge: It opens with the requisite scene of violence, and the author tends to jump from point of view to point of view in his short chapters, allowing the different plot lines to dovetail around the central protagonist. It's a standard approach if readers are willing to ride along until the pieces become clearer. The writing style for the protagonist is very readable: a little humor, a little macho, a lot grumpy.
